As parents of a young horse enthusiast we were looking to send our daughter for lessons, luckily for us we found Mrs. Emily Chaplin of Drafty Pines farm. Our family was immediately welcomed by the Chaplin family including their enormous dog Benjamin. Lessons with Emily have exceeded our expectations. Not only is Hannah learning how to ride the rescued horses at Drafty Pines, she is also taught the importance of grooming and maintaining a healthy horse. Emily is very much in tune with our daughter's needs and attention level in which makes every visit to the farm a great one.

Our experience at Drafty Pines Farm started almost a year ago at a seasonal event. My girls and I met the "boys" (horses) and enjoyed a beautiful ride through the Christmas trees and marveled at the gorgeous horses. My girls were hooked and so was I! 

The girls took part in the "Summer Camp" this past summer and learned all aspects of horsemanship and basic rules for riding. My daughters loved the craft time and healthy cookies they made for the "boys".  I too, started taking lessons from Emily and couldn't wait for each upcoming lesson. Emily really took the time to explain and teach the girls on how to read the signs and body language of the horses. This was our first experience with riding lessons and we couldn't be happier with our choice. We will be coming to Drafty Pines Farm for many more years to come!!!

On our very first visit to Drafty Pines Farm, we felt welcomed.  My children, Katie (9 yrs old) and Matthew (7 yrs old) love animals but were never around any large animals like horses.  My first concern was safety and I was immediately put to ease.  Drafty Pines is a great place for children to learn about the responsibility of caring for such large animals.  Drafty Pines covers all areas involving not only learning to ride but the daily needs of the animal.  It is done in a way that the kids are having fun and learning at the same time.  Drafty Pines looks at the individual child and works at their pace. The party was WONDERFUL! You and your husband made everyone feel welcome, and it was nice how everything was set up with chairs, etc. A lot of people commented on it, most had been to the other horse party and yours was so much better. 2 people even asked about Rhi’s horse lessons and I highly recommended you. Thank you to Drafty Pines Farm for a fun and professional birthday celebration. Even the rain couldn't stop the children from riding and having a blast with the horses. Months later people are still thanking us for opening their eyes to the "horse world". The knowledge and experience we enjoyed getting have become memories to cherish.
